Upgrading My Earscape With Studs
This blog is sponsored by Studs. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I came across the concept of earscaping on TikTok about four months ago, and after that first 30 second video, I asked myself “where has this been all my life?”
If you’re unfamiliar with the term, earscaping is the aesthetically and visually pleasing curation of your piercings and the earrings you wear. Earscapes are Studs specialty.
Studs is reinventing ear piercing with approachable and stylish storefronts that cater to Gen Z, Millennials, and anyone else who wants to get pierced safely and have stylish earring options. Long gone are the days of going to Claire’s and waiting for the sting of the ear piercer gun and the “ear-a” of the ear piercings bar is here.
While I was not able to go to one of the Studs studios (they have locations in New York City, Boston, Austin, and Los Angeles), I was invited to shop online from their selection of gold and silver jewelry that are all made with sensitive ears in mind. And while their name may lead you to believe that they only carry studs, you would be wrong. There are huggies, hoops, chains, dangles, cuffs, clickers, and of course, studs. With very limited ear real estate – two holes in each ear – and so many beautiful classic and trendy styles, I found it difficult to choose. After much consideration and looking at tons of “ear-spo,” I made my selection: A pair of pavé evil eye studs (to match the bracelet that I always wear), a pair of lightning ear jackets, and a single hinged pavé cuff.
While I did choose to go pretty matchy-matchy with my earring selection, Studs makes it easy to purchase any piece individually or as a pair, allowing you an opportunity to experiment with how you express yourself.
That’s really what Studs is all about: Expression. Prior to my Studs order, I wasn’t wearing anything. I would occasionally put in my pair of trusty gold hoops, but the personality wasn’t there.
The day my order came in, I was over the moon! I was excited to check out the earscape I had designed. Before I put on my new jewelry though, I had to admire the Studs packaging. Included in my package were five cute stickers and a pack of stick-on earrings. Yes, those stick-on earrings that your mom made you wear because you were too young to get your ears pierced – such a cute touch!
Finally, I got to the earrings! I eagerly put on the earrings and marveled at how good my earscape looked. My trusty gold hoops lack personality, but this earscape exudes self-expression. It’s trendy, but subtle; edgy, but timeless; it doesn’t demand attention, but it can capture your attention. In short, I LOVE it!
In the first week of wearing my new Studs pieces, I received so many compliments from my friends and coworkers. I happily told them all about Studs and how they didn’t have to choose between quality and quantity. Each piece is high quality and safe for sensitive ears, and costs between $18-26 per single earring.
It’s safe to say that I am a fan, and I think you will be too. Design your earscape with Studs.
