The 28 Things On My 2019 Summer Bucket List

I don’t know about you, but there is something about Summer that makes me feel like anything is possible. New adventures, lifestyle changes, projects and so much more. So, instead of allowing Summer to pass, while I wait for excitement to find me, I write down a list of things I want to do, so I can seek out fun times on my own. Some things on my list repeat year after year (#1 on the list: visiting Holland State Park at sunset), while others are completely new (really looking forward to #16!).

1. Go to Holland State Park at sunset

2. Build a sandcastle

3. Make s‘mores over a campfire

4. Host a pool party for my birthday

Blowing out the candles on my birthday banana pudding.

5. Go skinny dipping

6. Make dinner with ingredients purchased from the farmer’s market

7. Go to a Whitecaps game

From last year’s July 4th game.

8. Watch 4th of July fireworks

9. Light some sparklers

10. Tie-dye a shirt

11. Color my hair pink

12. Listen to live music at a bar

13. Go to a karaoke night at a bar

14. Visit Sleeping Bear Dunes

15. Go to a wine tasting in Traverse City, MI

16. Go to the Cherry Bowl Drive-In Theater in Honor, MI

17. Go to Mackinac Island and roam aimlessly around

18. Stargaze at the Headland dark sky park in Mackinaw

19. Disconnect from social media for a day

2o. Read The Prisoner of Azkaban and start The Goblet of Fire

21. Take a pottery class at The Mud Room

22. Try a new Pinterest project

23. Go to the Hudsonville Fair

24. Make my own funnel cakes

25. Make boozy popsicles

26. Pay for the order behind me in the drive-thru

27. Do yoga in the sunshine

28. Go to the beach in a bikini

    Hold up. I love the idea of buying the person’s food behind you in the drive thru. I also want to learn how to make a mean sangria. 💜

      Right? It’s such a simple idea, and I’ve always heard about people doing it, but I’ve never done it myself, and I would love the opportunity to pay it forward even in that small way. Also, making sangria sounds like a lot of fun! Would you want to make white or red sangria?
