Unboxing My Spring 2019 CAUSEBOX

Over the years subscription boxes have taken off in popularity and their offerings. There is quite literally a box for everything! Want clean beauty? There’s a box for that. Into Japanese snacks? There’s a box for that. Want exclusive sports team merch? You bet there is at least one for that too. How about one that encompasses lifestyle, beauty, and fashion, while supporting women entrepreneurs and being socially conscious? I’ve got you. Allow me to introduce you to CAUSEBOX!

CAUSEBOX started in 2018 with the simple mission to support brands and give back. Behind each full-size product there is a story and a founder, and CAUSEBOX introduces you to both, thus connecting you to new brands and women entrepreneurs each season.

In each box, you can expect jewelry, housewares, skincare, accessories, valued at over $200 for $49.95. Some products are even exclusive collaborations between the brand and CAUSEBOX. Now, let’s dive into the goodies I got in my Spring 2019 box!

First up from Marina De Buchi is this dainty gold-plated bracelet. Marina De Buchi, the woman behind the eponymous brand, actively gives back to her charity partner A21. A21 stands to abolish slavery in the 21st century, and through every online purchase of Marina’s beautiful jewelry, 10% is donated to them. Not only is Marina’s jewelry gorgeous, but her products also have such a meaningful purpose.

Included in the box is this full-size Kálos Mist Congeniality Elixir Toning Mist. First of all, I love the name of this product – it’s so clever! Secondly, Kálos’ founder, Nadia Babar, donates a portion of every purchase to girl’s education projects around the world. Thirdly, this rosewater mist smells heavenly! It’s a delicate fragrance mixed with rose, aloe, chamomile, and witch hazel. Those four ingredients work well together to tone and hydrate. I have loved using this product so far, and I can see myself spritzing this all over my face on hot Summer days…if they ever come to Michigan.

This Cosmedix Glow Bamboo Brightening Mask is ahhh-mazing! Cosmedix is an effective clean skincare brand. Because it is a clean brand that means there are no harsh chemicals in it. In fact, this is made with bamboo extract, lactic acid, and niacinamide for gentle physical and chemical exfoliation. After using this product, my skin feels so much smoother and looks so much brighter! I have loved introducing this product into my regimen as an extra special treatment that I use two times a week.

From Wyld Skincare is this French Pink Clay Konjac Sponge. I have never used a konjac sponge before, but have always been intrigued by the level of exfoliation it could provide and how my semi-sensitive skin would react. The good news is my skin LOVES this product! It is not irritated at all and looks very fresh after each use. Not to mention, konjac sponges are a positive substitution for other exfoliating products that come in plastic packaging. Yup, this product doesn’t hurt the planet! In fact, Wyld’s founder, Joy Yap, makes sure they donate a portion of proceeds to Sea Shepard, a marine-life conservation organization.

While all of these products are great, one of my favorite parts is how CAUSEBOX supports an artist with their Artist Residency Program. For the Spring 2019 box, CAUSEBOX collaborated with Slovenia artist, Alja Horvat. You can see her beautiful artwork all over the box, throughout the “Good News” magazine, and you even get a print. I love all the floral bright colors and the 70s vibe seen throughout her work, and feel so honored to have a piece of her work.

I have been throwing around the idea of introducing plants to my space, and if this Macrame Plant Hanger from Altru isn’t a sign I don’t know what is! CAUSEBOX worked with their in-house brand to design this hanger and use the proceeds from it to plant trees to jumpstart the reforestation process in California with One Tree Planted. So, I guess I’m not only going to be a plant-mom in Michigan, but also a god-parent to a tree in California.

I LOVE sleep and I can say since I started using this Bamboo Lyocell Eye Mask from Ettitude, I have been getting some big Zs. This mask is 100% organic and oh-so-soft! And get this, the “smooth-textured bamboo lyocell fabric helps to protect your skin from unwanted creases and your hair from external stress and friction…also proven to be less absorbent…meaning your moisturizing night cream lasts through the night, keeping your skin hydrated,” says CEO and founder Phoebe Yu. Excuse me, while I go buy new Ettitude sheets! Seriously though, this is such a great sleep product! Not only that, but it’s sustainable as well because it requires 1/10th as much water as cotton. What?! Oh yeah, and they support One Girl and CO2 Neutral. Snaps for a company that cares about educating girls and reducing their carbon footprint.

Patterned scarves are the ‘it’ accessory of the season, and you bet I’m going to be rocking this pink and copper floral silky scarf from Cleobella. Cleobella was started by Angela and Jim O’Brien during a worldwide surf trip (sounds amazing, right?). They desired to celebrate female artisans and cultural goods. So, they employ women and support women through CARE.org, which “works around the globe to save lives, defeat poverty, and achieve social justice.” For Spring 2019, in partnership with CAUSEBOX, Cleobella developed three exclusive scarf designs. Those designs were taken and then brought to life by the artisans using vegan silk. I don’t know about you, but I love knowing the story behind my clothes. I must admit, while I loved the look of my scarf before, I absolutely adore and treasure it now knowing it’s story.

Lastly, but certainly not least is this gorgeous vegan leather portfolio clutch from Glass Ladder & Co. Storytime: All the other products are amazing, right? And if you’re reading this you probably have a favorite by now. Well, this is mine. This is the product that made me say, “You’re getting the CAUSEBOX.” Allow me to explain. While the outside boasts a clean and minimalist design, the inside is packed with pockets for ample storage. Who packs every single thing into her work bag? This girl! Well, buh-bye work bag and hello portfolio clutch. Megan Larsen, co-founder of Glass Ladder & Co., started with the desire to “bring some much needed style and femininity into the women’s business causal fashion world.” Well, I say they she’s done it.

There you have it! All nine products from the Spring 2019 CAUSEBOX. Comment below with your favorite product. I truly did not know how I would feel about all of these products, like I said, I fell hard for the portfolio clutch. However, after receiving all the products and using them for over two weeks now, I can I have absolutely no complaints whatsoever! I am in love with everything and have been introduced to some really awesome brands that I am now a fan of. I am so impressed with the CAUSEBOX team’s curation and cannot wait for the Summer 2019 box.
